Celtic Enterprises is a not for profit organisation, run as a joint initiative by Innovation Wexford and Wexford County Enterprise Board, which promotes entrepreneurship and personal development in secondary schools across County Wexford, through the provision of our X-cel Student Enterprise Programme.

How Does The X-cel Programme Impact Students?

The aim of our X-cel Student Enterprise Programme is to encourage and foster entrepreneurship among young people, providing students with the opportunity to engage in real business experiences, encouraging them to act and think entrepreneurially throughout their future careers.

Every year, over seventeen secondary schools are involved in the programme, as the young entrepreneurs are facilitated in researching, setting up and running their own businesses from September to March. , with the support of Emer Doyle, the co-ordinator, who delivers five workshops to every participating school.

Wexford Entrepreneurs of the Future” are celebrated at the Annual X-cel Student Enterprise AwardsCeremony where they are commended for their efforts. This year a record number of over 750 students took part in the programme with combined sales in excess of €34,000 making it the biggest initiative of its kind in the county.
